Norman Bruce Jacobson
Senior Vice President
Norman Bruce Jacobson is Senior Vice President of Engineering and Development for Jacobson Companies, Inc. Bruce has been involved in civil engineering and development projects in Arizona since 1963. He has served as Town Engineer for the town of Parker, Arizona and County Engineer for La Paz County. As an engineer, his experience includes design of subdivisions, commercial properties, landfills, water and sewer systems, treatment plants, pumping and distribution systems, roads and streets, interstate highway systems, and flood control. He has been involved in engineering for both the private and public sectors for the past thirty years.
Michael Jarvis
President / CEO
Michael Jarvis is President and CEO of Jacobson Companies, Inc., Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc., and Southwest Lumber. He joined the company in January of 1996. In 1998, he became a licensed real estate agent in Arizona, and is now the broker for our company. Prior to joining Jacobson Companies, Inc., Mike worked for Tanner Companies for twenty years in the Yuma and Phoenix areas. He held various positions with the Tanner Companies, including Area Business Manager, Division Controller, Software Project Team, and Plant Superintendent.
Kirk Perkins
Vice President/Construction Manager
Kirk Perkins is the Construction Manager of Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc. His experience consists of working in residential, commercial, office, public school, library, bank and strip mall building construction. As Construction Manager, he supervises the residential, commercial, and office remodels and additions. He has worked with underground utilities (water, sewer, storm drain, electrical, phones, gas and cable). Kirk will oversee quality control to verify owner receives highest quality product, daily construction activities at project site, scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials, and progress of project construction. Kirk became Vice President of Yuma Valley Contractors in 2017.
Gene Allshouse
Lead Estimator and Project Manager
Gene Allshouse joined our company in February 2018 as Lead Estimator and Project Manager. He has over thirty years of experience in the construction industry. He started as a laborer then moved up through the ranks to Estimator and Project Manager with multiple companies. Gene's experience covers a wide range projects including pluming and mechanical jobs, fire stations, apartments, and the Point of Entry for Ehrenberg, CA. During this time, Gene also owned a successful Sportsfishing company in Mexico.
Rex Merrill
Commerical Construction Superintedent
Rex has been with the company over 20 years and has worked in construction for more than 40 years. He is our commercial building superintendent and handles most of our large building jobs. He demonstrates success in delivering a project and its objectives within budget, on schedule, and within quality constraints.
Artie Garcia
Underground Superintendent
Artie has been with the company for 28 years, starting out as an equipment operator. He currently runs all of our underground jobs. His "let's get the job done" attitude and work ethic is what helps our company bring in our jobs on time and within budget.
Brent Harper
Job Superintendent
Brent has been with the company for almost 6 years, but has been in construction for more than 20 years. He is one of our Job Superintendents. In 2017 some of the jobs he supervised were the remodel of Black Bear Diner, the addition of the 3rd Building at our Premier Storage Condominiums Unit 2 location. In 2018, Brent will be the Project Manager for the $3.4M Winterhaven Public Safety Building for Imperial County in CA.
Brad Chadwick
Safety Supervisor / Project Manager
Brad Chadwick has been in construction many years. He previously worked for other General Contractors in our area. He came to work for Yuma Valley in 2015 as our Safety Supervisor. In addition to managing our safety program, Brad has also run a few jobs for us. Some of his recent jobs have been the All Saints Mortuary Remodel, the new Building Additiona for MCCS at MCAS, and the Palo Verde Station 5 Backup Generator install for Imperial County. In 2018, Brad will be the job superintendent for the $3.4M Winterhaven Public Safety Building.
Jason Linn
Facilities Manager
Jason Linn has been with the company for more than 6 years. He was a vocational teacher for Yuma Union High School District and taught Welding at San Luis High School. The company has leveraged that skill set and he has helped out on many projects where we've needed skilled welding services. He also performs facilities management for most of our other locations and businesses.
Laura Manos
Project Assistant
Laura has worked in many different industries such as transportation, mechanical and construction. Her past positions have included receptionist, bookkeeper, and administrative assistant. She assists our project managers and job superintendents with all aspects of their jobs from the early bidding stages through job completion.
Trevin Jacobson
Jr. Project Assistant
Trevin has been with our company for almost two years. He carries on a long family tradition of working in construction. He started out as a laborer, but quickly learned and worked to understand how construction jobs worked. He has supervised some smaller jobs and helped out with other projects as well. Currently, he is working as a Junior Project Assistant for the commercial division, and will be working on the $3.4M Winterhave Public Safety Building.
